We are so excited to share this year’s creation for the Community Warehouse Chair Affair auction. Obviously inspired by the great Roy Lichtenstein, Amy combined our fantastic cotton print “Private Eyes” with two differently scaled polka dots, and the result couldn’t be more fantastic!
Community Warehouse, if you are unfamiliar, is currently the main resource from Vancouver to Corvallis for low income individuals and families seeking essential household furnishings. Community Warehouse acts as a “furniture bank” and coordinates distribution through a network of more than 200 social service agencies. It engages 25 paid staff and 180 active volunteers.
This year marks the 10th anniversary of the auction (and the 10th chair we have done), and features pieces from over 50 other local artists who have generously donated their time and talent. You can see a gallery of the entries here.
In addition to the finished Lichtenstein chair, we have also arranged to auction off a second chair this year! Bidders will raise their paddles for the extra special opportunity of having a full “Amy Chair” experience, where they can turn this before into the after of their dreams!
