“Great design comes from creativity, regardless of budget.” -Amy Estrin

We are a community of artists and designers, and as such our staff is happy to help with all your fabric dreams! We will help as much or as little as you like, and we work hard to stay within your budget while meeting your particular goals, whether it is a single pillow cover or an entire furniture ensemble. Sure, a larger budget can give you maximum options, but we thrive on working within whatever boundaries are set and we believe having those boundaries actually helps get the creative juices flowing! chair-horizontal-rule

Complimentary Design Service in the Store:

When you come to take advantage of our in-store design services, we recommend that you also bring a few pictures of the room, window, or furniture that is being considered. A picture goes a long way to helping us understand your particular needs and space. With over 900 fabrics in-stock and an extensive library of orderable samples to pull from, we are positive that we can help you find the perfect fabric for your project.

In Home Design Service:

Sometimes your home just needs an in-person, “eyes-on” approach, as nothing quite replaces having one of our designers actually being in your home. We have found that when you have several projects to complete, the professional visit is an excellent value. Besides fabric, our designers can address everything from paint colors to tile and carpet choices, art, accessories…and more. The designers from The Whole 9 Yards have a unique set of skills including how to measure for drapes and upholstery, which helps establish a budget. We work with all parts of the project from mills to the installer. Problems arise in our world of details, but we know how to keep a keen eye out for them and solve most everything before the client’s project is affected. We are proud of the work we do and are honored by the trust our clients have in us.

Thanks for all of your help – my place looks great! The “Amy” chair is a big hit with all who visit. – Regina

My design philosophy is to start with what you love and build from there. I love focusing on details once the big decisions are made. If you compromise on the first thing you choose for a room, you are always trying to make up for that choice.  That being said, sometimes I am brought into a project to solve a problem created by an unfortunate choice. My father always said “Work the problem!” That’s when you need that creativity to take the lead! I am very aware of a client’s budget. Good design is led by creativity, not necessarily a large budget. Being clear about costs from the start assures a good use of time and resources.

I graduated from the Museum Art School (now known as PNCA) in Portland OR with a BFA.   I bring my passion for color and composition from painting to my work in interior design. Looking at the home like one would look at artwork deepens the experience  for me.  How color moves throughout the home, how textures layer in a room, what are the practicalities for the space, are all things I consider on each project.

Artwork is one of my passions. It is a special thrill for me when a client asks me to help them find artwork. I was raised with original artwork in our home. I believe it adds a profound part to the soul of the house. I like to demystify the purchasing of art. It really is a lot of fun!

I have always loved textiles. As a young child most of my games revolved around designing elaborate cardboard worlds for Barbie to inhabit, and as I grew older my babysitting money was mostly spent at the fabric store where I would wander the aisles and dream about one day owning a home where I could have luxurious velvet drapes on every window. Now, as an adult, my tastes have changed a little (you will find mostly linen drapes in my home) but my love of all things fabric has remained! In 2008, after graduating from The Art Institute of Portland with a BS in Interior Design, I was thrilled to find a home at The Whole 9 Yards.

I started Victoria Robinson Interiors in 2011, and am so grateful for every opportunity I have had to help make my clients’ dreams come true. Whether it is as simple as adding a few throw pillows to a sofa, rearranging a room to help it function better, or knocking down an entire wall to open up the kitchen, I love it all!
